Siege will see regular updatesand will not be the sequel.
Rainbow Six Siege is a game that has seen numerous changes since its debut in 2015. According to Leroy Athanassoff, creative director on SiegeThe game will keep getting “incremental” changes that gradually modify its overall designand gameplay, but he doesn’t think that making a sequel is the most appropriate decision for the game’s players.
This statement was made by Athanassoff in an Reddit AMA. While there’s no doubt that there’s a bright future ahead of the gamehowever, the team is hesitant to announce a sequel even although Rainbow Six Siege has been out for more than five years. It’s more likely that frequent updates and changes to content will continue to alter the DNA of Siege:
“Siege is an ever-changing game”The Siege of the future will be dramatically different from today’s Siegeup to the point that we might call it Siege 2,” Athanassoff declared. “Howeveras a group, we strongly believe we can bring about these changes in a gradual way, within the current Siege framework.”
He went on to say, “Siege 2 would mean that it is a new game in an entirely new setting, possibly an inventory overhaul, and maybe a new dev team. We do not think this is what we think is best for the community. We are concerned about you and your stake in the game. Therefore, we do not wish to relocate to a different one. Instead, we want to safeguard your investment and enhance its value by making your home’ (which is SIEGE) even better. It’s similar to making improvements to your old house in order to bring it more modern, sleek and appealing.”
There you are, then. Rainbow Six Siege 2 is technically impossible to make. But, the current game will evolve and receive constant updates for as long as it’s in the market.
Siege was recently updated by adding a new Defenderas well as new playstyles and new strategies.
